Taking a Stand for the Trinity Doctrine – Berean Perspective Podcast

Welcome to another Berean Perspective Audio Podcast.   For over 2000 years the Trinity Doctrine has been attacked, falsely slandered, and twisted by many religious sects and counterfeit cults.  The early church dealt with false sects like Gnosticis, Ebionites, Judaizers, Stoics, and others.  In the last few hundred years we have seen the rise of false movements like Mormonism, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Emergent Christianity, Oneness Pentecostalism (UPCI, T. D. Jakes, Randy Phillips, Shawn Craig & Dan Dean), and many others.   It is time to get fired up, get Biblically aware, and take a stand for truth.

Why is this topic important? What does the Bible teach?

  • The Trinity is Biblically defined as one God revealed through three persons. (Father is God, Jesus is God, Holy Spirit is God, each distinctly)
  • Cults and False Teachers Twist the Scriptures (Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mormons, Oneness Pentecostals)
  • People get deceived by so called Christians whom deny the Trinity (examples:  Phillips, Craig, and Dean/ T. D. Jakes)

1) Wrong Tolerance (2 Corinthians 11:3-4)

But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds will be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ.   For if one comes and preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted, you bear this beautifully.

What does “you bear this beautifully” mean from the Greek in context?

How does this verse apply in our day?

2)  Use Caution (Matthew 7:15-23)

15 “Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.   16 “You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they?   17 “So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit.   18 “A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit.   19 “Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.   20 “So then, you will know them by their fruits. 21 “Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.   22 “Many will say to Me on that day, `Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’   23“And then I will declare to them, `I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.’

Not all whom claim to be followers of Jesus Christ are genuine followers.  In fact many religious people have the motions, the words, the appearance, but they are not saved and they have a counterfeit version of Jesus.

3) Take a Stand (Jude 1:3)

“1 Jude, a bond-servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, To those who are the called, beloved in God the Father, and kept for Jesus Christ:   May mercy and peace and love be multiplied to you.   3Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our common salvation, I felt the necessity to write to you appealing that you contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all handed down to the saints.”

We must take a stand for truth today for the faith as the early church was instructed.

The Trinity Doctrine is Biblical, Logical, and very relevant in today’s world.  With so many sects teaching false doctrines on the nature and identity of God, we must stand up for truth and for lost souls.  Keep an eye on those whom cause divisions within and outside the body of Christ, beware of false prophets and teachers whom lead people astray, and take a stand for Biblical truth.

You are encouraged to share your questions and comments with us.  May you grow in the grace of and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus.

  1. This really is something that many of us Christians need to rethink in examining what people say they believe verses what they really believe. I hope for those of you whom do listen to this that you share your thoughts.

  4. Hear Oh Israel The Lord Our God Is One Lord. I imagine you would baptize in the trinity approach of Matthew 28:19 which would suggest to do just that but further study would indicate that in Luke 24 repentance and remission is to be preached in His name. What is the Name of the Father, what is the Name of the Son, and what is the Name of the Holy Ghost? Since baptism is necessary as commanded by Jesus and picked up by Peter in Acts and wherein like manner, baptism does now save us we see that all was done in the Name of Jesus. Jesus said I come in my Father’s name and Jesus said I send the comforter in My Name. Show us the Father Phillip requested since the Spirit was not yet given and Jesus’ reply was “Have I been with you so long and you have not known me”. Clearly Jesus is God. The Father was not a person and neither can the Holy Spirit be labeled as a person. The scripture you used above kind sir in saying “if they that come preach another Jesus” and they do just that, but it is not the same Jesus the Apostles preached. Since it takes the name for remission what happens when the name is not used and is replaced by a lack of knowledge and the offices or titles of the mystery of Godliness are used? Can there be remission of sins in titles? We must say absolutely not. It comes thru the name. There is only one that sits upon the throne although at times in symbolism we see the one on the throne and the lamb taking the book out of the hand of the one that sits on the throne. You see the monotheistic Jews of Jesus day understood his claim to deity when they desired to kill him and we know they understood with these words. “For though being a man makest thyself God”. Because he was and is presently God. Trinity is unbiblical and perverted or twisted. No other name under heaven whereby we must be saved. Jesus is God. When people receive the Spirit they receive God or Jesus. They are in fact synonymous. One day the bibe says he will have a name that no man knows yet. Since there is no need for saving, healing, etc., I can only imagine that the name will represent completion. At that point the mystery of God robed in flesh as glorified Son will according to Paul in 1 Corinthians 15 cease and he will be unrobed for we shall see him as he is. Oneness Pentecostals are not a religion but and experience which brings revelation by the baptism of the Holy Ghost. Sorry for going so long.
    Good Day/Night ;0)
