Ken Ham Debate with Bill Nye on the Origin Model of Life
Recently I heard that there is up and coming debate with Bill Nye the Science Guy from TV with Ken Ham the founder of Answers in Genesis (AIG) and the Creation Museum. The debate is to take place on February 4, 2014 in Petersburg, Kentucky, and the topic will be: “is creation viable model of origins in today’s modern scientific era?” Information below from the Answers in Genesis website.
“TV’s famed “Bill Nye the Science Guy” will argue the case against creation and for evolution as he faces the founder and president of the Creation Museum, Ken Ham, on February 4, 2014, in the museum’s 900-seat Legacy Hall. The museum, which has drawn two million guests in six years (including 20,000 visitors at its recent Christmas Town programs), is located in Petersburg, Kentucky (near the Cincinnati Airport).
The agreed-upon topic for the 7 PM debate is “Is creation a viable model of origins in today’s modern scientific era?”
“A debate with Mr. Nye, nationally known for his children’s TV program and for promoting evolution, will be one of our major events in 2014 to highlight how children and teens are being influenced by evolutionary thinking,” declared Ham. “This year, our AiG theme is ‘Standing Our Ground, Rescuing Our Kids.’ Having the opportunity to hold a cordial but spirited debate with such a well-known personality who is admired by so many young people will help bring the creation/evolution issue to the attention of many more people, including youngsters.”” (quote from Answers in Genesis link)
The news is talking about the creation debate between Ken Ham and Billy Nye, which is great to see. (link) I thought the comment in this clip from Bill Nye was very interesting. Quote “your world just becomes fantastically complicated, when you don’t believe in evolution”. I believe the world is so much more complicated by believing in evolution and not believing in One who created this world.
This will be great to see how this turns out, whether those who believe in a Creator or for those who believe in evolution.
Which is more a leap of faith to believe? Evolution with the Big Bang Theology or a Creator?
“The broadly accepted theory for the origin and evolution of our universe is the Big Bang model, which states that the universe began as an incredibly hot, dense point roughly 13.7 billion years ago.” (space.com link)
“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” (Genesis 1 link)
