Trinity Doctrine in the Bible: John 1:1-3 Jesus is God and Creator

Trinity Doctrine in the Bible

The Trinity Doctrine is one of the most if not the most debated and misunderstood doctrines taught in the Bible.  The purpose of this information is to show from the Bible that the Trinity Doctrine is true and not false, and to do that from what the Bible teaches.  In the Gospel of John we find many places where the apostle writes about and defends the Deity of Jesus Christ, that Jesus is God, that Jesus is Creator, that Jesus is the Son of God, and more.  In the gospel of John 1:1-3 we see the following written concerning Jesus.

“1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.” John 1:1-3 New American Standard Bible

John 1:1-3

In reading the Gospel of John 1 it is clear that the Word spoken of is Jesus Christ. (John 1:1, John 1:14)  In this Bible passage there are 3 specific things that John writes concerning the Word in John 1:1.  First, that in the beginning was the Word, which connects with Genesis 1.  The Word, Jesus was there in the beginning, before anything was created or made, Jesus was alive.  Secondly, the Word was with God, namely with God the Father. (John 1:2, John 1:14-18)  Jesus and the Father are not 1 person, they are distinct but one in nature.  Thirdly, the Word was God, namely that Jesus is by nature God from eternity alongside the Father. (John 1:3, John 1:18, John 5:18-23, John 17:5)

In the Gospel of John 1:2 the Word was in the beginning with God.  Jesus was with the Father from eternity, He was in the beginning before anything was created. Jesus Christ is called and identified as the beginning and the end, the first and last, the alpha and the omega in the book of Revelation recorded by the apostle John. (Revelation 1:8, 1:17-17, Revelation 2:8, Revelation 22:12-13).

Jesus is God and Creator

In John 1:3 the Bible declares that Jesus Christ is Creator of all things.  For John 1:3 states, “All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.”  Nothing came into being without Jesus, for all things came into existence through Him.  John 1:3 demonstrates that Jesus is God by nature and identity alongside the Father.  The Bible also states in Colossians 1:16-17, Hebrews 1:1-3, Revelation 3:14 that Jesus is the Creator, the Source, the Origin, of all creation.

Bible Teaches Trinity Doctrine

There are many people that are misinformed, many that distort the Trinity Doctrine, and many that teach it is a false doctrine.  This information is shared for the purpose of giving a true and accurate perspective of the Trinity Doctrine and that Jesus is God found in the gospel of John 1:1-3.  As being demonstrated Jesus Christ is the Eternal Word, whom is identified as being Creator of all things and God alongside the Father.
