In this video we discuss 3 things that Christians need to know. Christians need to know how to share their personal testimony, their faith with non Christians, and be able to answer questions when asked why they believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Christians need to know what to be on guard against when it comes to false doctrines and teachers who are teaching things contrary to Christ. In the churches today Christians are being deceived by traditions of men, worldly principles, false teachers and doctrines, and Christians need to be grounded in the Word and in the faith. Christians also need to be biblical Berean’s meaning they know how to study the Bible, to rightly dived the Word of truth, how to examine the Scriptures, and test what they are being taught by pastors and teachers. This is especially true when it comes to Cults and Religions that are teaching false gospels, false teachings on God and the Trinity, false doctrines on salvation, heaven and hell, end times, spiritual gifts, etc. The three main Scriptures for this video is 1 Peter 3:15 (Christian Apologetics), Colossians 2:8 (Be careful of false teachings and doctrines), and Acts 17:11 (test what you hear and read by examining the Scriptures, the Bible, seek spiritual discernment).
Do you struggle on how to share your faith and your personal testimony with lost family members, friends, people they know, those in Cults (Mormons, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Word Faith Movement, Oneness Pentecostals) and Religions (Muslims, Jews, Hindu’s, etc)? How can Christians can share their faith and their personal testimony about Jesus Christ when people ask? In 1 Peter 3:15 we get the term Apologetics, a Greek word ‘apologia’ which means to give a defense, to give a reason for, to explain. This verse is a common verse used for Christian Apologetics on how to defend the faith, how to share you personal testimony, how to witness to those in Cults (Mormons, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Word Faith Movement, Oneness Pentecostals) and those in Religions (Muslims, Jews, Hindus). What does Christian Apologetics mean? How can I share Jesus Christ everyday in simple ways to those around me?
In Colossians 2:6-8 the apostle Paul encourages Christians to be rooted firmly in Christ Jesus, and to be careful of false teachers and teachings. Today we have to be careful as well with people teaching creation is not true, there is no God, evolution is true, you can do whatever you want, that morality is what feels right, traditions of men over what Christ taught, and many other issues. Christians need to be careful of false teachers, false gospels, false teachings, both in and outside the Christian church. To know what is true is to know what Jesus taught, what Paul and the apostles taught, and what the Scriptures teach in context. Truth is extremely important today, and Christians need to seek the Lord for spiritual discernment (Hebrews 5:13-14)
What does it mean to be a Berean? Who are the Bereans in the Bible? Being a Berean is found in Acts 17:11 where those in Berea received eagerly what Paul was teaching them, but they also examined what Paul taught by going to the Scriptures. Today many people who call themselves Christians do not examine the Scriptures for themselves, but they believe what their pastor, professor, or teacher teaches as being true. Pastors and teachers are not without being examined and tested. Pastors and teachers may be accurate in what they are teaching and sharing, but Christians are taught to test and examine all things and hold fast to that what is good and true (Acts 17:11; 2 Timothy 2:15; 1 Thessalonians 5:20-21. It is important when examining the Scriptures to look for context, to read verses before and after, look for what is being said and why, who it is addressing and how it applies.
Be a living testimony and share your testimony to those around you in your words, in love, in grace, by your actions, and represent Jesus to them. The world needs to know Him and hope, and we can share that with them. Also Christians need discernment to careful of false teachers, teachings, and those things that are against what Jesus and the Scriptures teach. Be a biblical Berean, examine the Scriptures, test what you hear and read, and seek the Lord for discernment (Hebrews 5:13-14).
