What do Muslims believe? As a Christian I almost was killed for sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ while talking with Muslims. Years ago when I was doing street witnessing sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ talking to Muslims some of them got angry, some threatened my life, and they wanted to debate me rather than talk. Not all Muslims are like this, but it does happen. Muslims follow the religion of Islam and the teachings of the Quran. Muslims don’t believe Jesus is the Son of God, Muslims don’t believe Jesus died upon the cross and was resurrected, and Muslims don’t believe the Bible to be true. Islam teaches that Christianity is false and many Muslims have not read the New Testament, the Bible, and Christians need to know how to share the gospel in love and grace with Muslims so they can know Jesus Christ personally.
When I was street witnessing to Muslims I shared with them how Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that the Bible teaches His death upon the cross and His resurrection (Luke 24:44-46), and that Jesus said He is the way the truth and the life no one comes to Father but by Him (John 14:6). It’s important to know that Islam and Christianity do not believe in the same God, yet both claim to believe in the one true God, monotheism. Islam does not believe in the same Jesus of the Bible, because in the Quran Muslims believe Jesus was just a prophet and messenger of Allah. Christians believe Jesus is the Son of God sent from the Father, that Jesus was God in the flesh, and that the Trinity doctrine is true.
Muslims and Christians have very different views on salvation and eternal life. Muslims believe that their works are how they get saved or eternal life, and if their good works out weighs the bad works they will be saved. Christians trust in Jesus Christ death upon the cross as an atonement for sin and that Jesus was raised to life 3 days later, and all those who trust in Him as Lord and Savior will be saved (Romans 10:9-13). Therefore it is important to share the good news of Jesus Christ with Muslims that they can be saved by God’s grace, not of works or religion, but by trusting in Jesus Christ personally.
